Eva Blažíčková

Choreographer and dance teacher, recipient of the Chevalier of the Ordre des Palmes Académiques (France).

Shortly after the 1989 revolution she founded and for the next 20 years headed the only Czech specialised school training professional dancers, choreographers and teachers in the area of contemporary dance – the Duncan Centre Conservatory (1992). Founder of the Society for Dance and Artistic Education, the Isadora Duncan Endowment Fund (1993), the Jarmila Jeřábková Award (1999), co-founder of the Dance Vision (Vize tance) initiative (2005).

Eva Blažíčková

Actively engaged in numerous additional projects that aim to emancipate this type of dance and to place it where it belongs – in the regular context of Czech culture and education. As a direct successor of the Duncan tradition she proves by her activities that dance is not an isolated artistic discipline but a tool that has the power to transform, ennoble and liberate.
